Franklin Park as the Peoples Park

Franklin Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted in the late 1800s, continues to thrive as a significant community space in Boston, hosting various cultural events and celebrations. On July 26 and 27, 2025, the 58th annual Puerto Rican Festival will honor Puerto Rican heritage and culture at the Playstead. The Franklin Park Coalition, formed in 1971, has played a crucial role in advocating for the park's maintenance and preservation amid periods of neglect.
