The City of Boston and Mayor Michelle Wu will host the annual Break-Up Summit for teens on July 31, 2025, at Simmons University. This year's summit, themed "Unscripted Love," encourages open discussions about relationships in the digital age. Dr. Bisola Ojikutu, Boston's Commissioner of Public Health, stressed the need for youth-led violence prevention initiatives. The summit aims to create a safe environment for teens to unpack the complexities of modern relationships and develop coping skills.

Attendees will engage in live skits, interactive breakout sessions, and a youth-led panel discussion, fostering community building and mutual support. The event also recognizes social media's role in shaping perceptions of love and conflict among young people. Start Strong, the organizing program, is known for its youth-led approach to preventing dating violence and promoting healthy relationships. Approximately 200 teens from various youth programs have registered for this free event, which is now closed for new sign-ups.
