Mayors Cup Tennis Tournament Begins August 11

The 2025 Mayor's Cup Tennis Tournament will commence on August 11 at 9:30 a. m. and conclude on August 14 at Carter Playground Tennis Courts. Young athletes aged 8 to 18 can compete in various divisions, including 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, and 18U singles and doubles matches. Mayor Michelle Wu highlighted the tournament's significance in showcasing local talent and expanding access to youth sports.

Registration is open on the Boston Parks Sports and Activities page, allowing participants to secure their spots for the event. The Boston Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with the Sportsmen's Tennis and Enrichment Center, Tenacity, and the USTA, presents this tournament. Director Cathy Baker-Eclipse noted the importance of providing free, high-quality sports opportunities to Boston's youth. The tournament serves not only as a competitive platform but also as a celebration of community involvement in sports. P&G Gillette sponsors this year's tournament, further supporting youth engagement in athletics.
