What to know about the Good Trouble rallies coming to Boston and other Mass. cities Thursday
On July 17, tens of thousands will rally across nearly 50 cities in Massachusetts to protest the Trump administration's budget, organized by the Indivisible Mass Coalition. The event honors John Lewis, a civil rights leader who coined "good trouble," and will gather in Boston at Copley Square at 4:30 p. m. before marching to Boston Common for a 6 p. m.
rally. The Community Health Network of North Central Massachusetts will collect donations for unhoused populations, including socks and medical supplies. Protesters will advocate for justice, addressing concerns over voting rights and free speech. The movement reflects a continuation of Lewis's legacy, focusing on mutual aid in the fight for freedom. Nationally, similar rallies will occur as a tribute to Lewis, five years after his passing.
