Alan Jackson, the lead defense attorney for Karen Read, has formally requested that Boston Police Officer Kelly Dever be placed on the Brady list, asserting that her credibility has been "irreparably compromised" following her testimony in Read's retrial. Dever initially reported seeing key witnesses near the alleged murder weapon, but later described her recollection as a "false memory. " Jackson's complaint highlights the need for scrutiny of Dever's past statements, suggesting they could impact her reliability in other cases. Read was acquitted of murder and manslaughter but convicted of drunk driving, underscoring the contentious nature of the case. The prosecution accused Read of backing her vehicle into her boyfriend, Officer John O'Keefe, while intoxicated.

Dever's testimony, which included allegations of being threatened with perjury by the defense, has further complicated the proceedings. Jackson insists that all information regarding Dever's credibility must be disclosed in any case where she serves as a witness.
