Kim Knor, an 86-year-old skydiver from Michigan, is on track to achieve her goal of 1,000 jumps, recently completing her 865th at Boston Skydive Center in Rhode Island. Knor, a trailblazer as a member of the first women’s U. S. Parachute Team in 1962, aims to reach 900 jumps by the end of this month. She expressed that the community of skydivers makes the wait for ideal weather conditions enjoyable.

Her passion for skydiving ignited in her youth, inspired by a parachute her uncle brought home from WWII. After taking a 37-year hiatus to focus on family, she resumed her jumps in 2003. In addition to her personal milestones, Knor has inspired family members to pursue their skydiving licenses. Her celebratory jump for her 1,000th dive is scheduled to take place over the pyramids in Egypt. Knor's journey highlights her enduring spirit and commitment to adventure at any age.
