Revere woman charged for allegedly attacking 4 strangers in Maverick Square

Amya Yarde Lydon has been indicted on multiple charges, including armed assault to murder, for allegedly attacking four strangers in Maverick Square on May 10. The violent spree began when she confronted a 15-year-old at the MBTA station, leading to a physical altercation. Within minutes, Lydon pistol-whipped two people dining near a food truck and shot a bystander recording the attack. Prosecutors noted that the victims were unknown to Lydon, highlighting the randomness of the violence. After fleeing the scene, Lydon returned to the crowded station, where police apprehended her after she dropped a loaded firearm.

Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden condemned the chaotic violence, emphasizing the support for the victims. Lydon was released on $5,000 bail with conditions including home confinement and a GPS monitor. She is scheduled to appear in court again on August 26.
