Local obituary Jake Rosencranz, 29-year-old Weston native struck by lightning on Florida vacation

Jake Andrew Rosencranz, 29, tragically passed away on June 21, 2025, after being struck by lightning while vacationing in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Surrounded by family in a Daytona hospital, he leaves behind his wife, Leah Curtis, along with his parents and siblings. Jake graduated from the University of Denver in 2019, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in geography and became a successful project manager in commercial construction. He was known for his dedication and hard work, making significant contributions to his projects and the Future Leaders Forum of the AGC of Colorado. Jake and Leah, who met in high school, shared a passion for outdoor adventures, frequently enjoying activities in the Rocky Mountains.

Their wedding took place in July 2023 at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, a location special to them. Friends and family will remember Jake for his infectious laugh and kind heart, and his legacy will continue through the lives he touched. Details on a celebration of his life will be announced later.
