Over 100 unopened packages turn up in a MetroWest dumpster

Boston, MALocal News

Wayland police are investigating the discovery of over 100 unopened packages dumped in a trash bin on Commonwealth Road. A resident reported the initial sighting of four packages, which increased significantly the following day. Authorities confirmed that the packages were marked as delivered, yet many residents reported not receiving them, suggesting a potential package scam affecting surrounding areas. UniUni, the delivery service involved, identified that a third-party delivery driver mishandled the packages and has since terminated their contract. The police are now working with UniUni to recover the affected packages and ensure correct deliveries moving forward.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office has also been notified of the ongoing investigation. This incident reflects broader issues regarding delivery service accountability and customer trust. UniUni has publicly apologized for the inconvenience caused to affected residents.
