Allan Yorke Park New Playground Information

Bonney Lake, WALocal News

The City of Bonney Lake is set to enhance Allan Yorke Park with a new inclusive playground, strategically located near ballfield 5. This initiative is part of a broader master plan aimed at improving community recreational facilities. Originally scheduled for installation after the completion of Ballfield 5 in 2023, the project faced setbacks due to significant cost increases. Thanks to the efforts of local representatives, the city successfully secured the remaining funds needed from the state legislature's 2024-2025 budget. As of April 1, 2025, the city has completed the funding contracting process, marking a significant milestone for the project.

The next step includes obtaining an updated quote from the playground installer, which will be presented to the City Council for review. A vote on the contract is expected in April or May. Residents can anticipate a status update on the project during the week of April 7, 2025.
