Bonney Lake Launches New Emergency Alert System
The City of Bonney Lake is thrilled to announce the launch of its new emergency alert system, Bonney Lake Alert, aimed at delivering critical safety information promptly to residents. To receive alerts, community members must opt-in by signing up through the City’s website, where they can choose their preferred method of communication—text, phone, or email. This system is designed primarily for emergencies that pose a direct threat to life safety, although it may also be used for specific non-emergency notifications such as missing person alerts or traffic reroutes. Raejean Kreel, the Emergency Manager for Bonney Lake, emphasized the unique challenges faced by the community in east Pierce County, stating, “This new alert system allows us to localize how and when we communicate to our community members. ” The alert system operates independently from the Pierce County Alert system, encouraging residents to enroll in both for thorough regional coverage.
The initiative is part of the East Pierce Interlocal Coalition for Emergency Management’s efforts to bolster disaster preparedness across the region. Community members can also access additional alert systems by visiting www. epiceoc. com. For any inquiries about Bonney Lake Alert, residents can contact Raejean Kreel directly via email.
