In a troubling incident in Bonney Lake, an 18-year-old Jack in the Box employee was arrested after allegedly aiming a laser and firing a BB gun at police officers on January 5, 2025. Officers were parked across from the restaurant when one noticed a green laser aimed at her eye, prompting them to investigate further. Upon entering the restaurant, the suspect displayed a piece of paper claiming he had legal representation and refused to engage with the officers. After their departure, he reportedly continued to point the laser at them and discharged a BB gun multiple times. Backup arrived swiftly to apprehend the suspect as he was seen taking out the trash.

Police recovered the BB gun and BBs, along with 110 grams of cannabis found on his desk. This incident raises serious concerns about safety and the behavior of young individuals in the community. The teenager now faces multiple charges, including first-degree unlawful discharge of a laser and attempted assault, highlighting the growing issue of youth violence in the region.
