City of Bloomington Invites Public to Join Focus Groups on Bloomingtons Community Identity

Bloomington, INLocal News

The City of Bloomington will launch public focus groups on June 3 to shape the WeAreBloomington branding initiative. These sessions aim to define the city’s identity and enhance civic pride through community engagement. Residents can sign up for up to two focus groups covering topics like local identity and attracting young professionals. A public survey will be available until June 16 to gather further insights on community values and aspirations. Mayor Kerry Thomson highlighted the initiative's purpose of preserving Bloomington's unique character while improving its communication strategies.

The project is a response to a 2016 recommendation from the Wage Growth Task Force for a place-based branding strategy. CivicBrand, a national branding agency, partners with the city on this year-long effort. Participants will receive calendar invitations with meeting details after registering.
