The City of Bloomington is set to unveil OT 987, a striking public art installation by Berlin-based artist Stefan Reiss, on April 10, 2025. This event, part of the city's One Percent for the Arts program, emphasizes the importance of integrating art into public spaces to foster community engagement and economic vitality. OT 987 is a large-scale interactive sculpture made from colorful steel beams and equipped with LED lights that cycle through dynamic sequences. The unveiling ceremony will commence at 6:15 p. m.

with remarks from Mayor Kerry Thomson, Reiss, and members of the Bloomington Arts Commission. A reception featuring music by DJ Good Peoples and food from Self-Titled Vegetarian Kitchen & Catering will follow the ceremony. This project, selected from over 70 international applicants, reflects the innovative spirit of the Trades District. The initiative showcases the city's commitment to promoting creativity and cultural inclusion. Community members are invited to attend the free event and are asked to RSVP.
