The City of Bloomington to Unveil Renovated Fire Station 1 with Two Public Events

The City of Bloomington is preparing to unveil its renovated Fire Station 1, which underwent significant repairs due to severe flooding that impacted the area in June 2021. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, scheduled for October 24, will kick off the celebrations, featuring remarks from notable city officials, including Fire Chief Roger Kerr II and Mayor Kerry Thomson. This ceremony marks the reopening of a crucial public safety facility and celebrates the efforts made to restore it. Following the ribbon cutting, an Open House will occur on October 26, inviting residents to tour the upgraded facility and engage with local firefighters. Deputy Fire Chief Max Litwin expressed enthusiasm about the renovations, highlighting their role in enhancing operational efficiency and community safety.
