The City of Bloomington is calling for volunteers to take part in a Downtown Community Cleanup Day on October 16, from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. , in preparation for Indiana University's Homecoming weekend.

This community effort aims to enhance the downtown area's appearance by picking up litter and pulling weeds, making it more welcoming for residents and visitors alike. City staff will lead the cleanup teams, providing all necessary tools and equipment to ensure a productive day. Volunteers will have the unique opportunity to engage with Mayor Kerry Thomson during the event, fostering a sense of community spirit.
