The City of Bloomington Opens Applications for 150,000 in Violence Reduction Grants
The City of Bloomington has announced the opening of its 2025 Violence Reduction Grants program, with $150,000 available to fund community-led efforts aimed at violence prevention and intervention. Eligible applicants include a variety of organizations such as nonprofits, neighborhood associations, and faith-based groups, especially those with experience in addressing youth-involved and retaliatory violence. The city encourages collaborative applications, which will receive favorable consideration, and prioritizes agencies that incorporate the Built for Zero initiative into their strategies. Funded agencies must provide housing-oriented services aligned with the Heading Home Plan to promote broader housing stability. Additionally, partners are required to actively participate in local meetings related to coordinated entry and regional planning.
Applications are due by 5 p. m. on August 1, 2025, and recipients will be announced by August 29. Programs funded through this initiative will begin implementation on or after September 1. The initiative reflects the city’s commitment to fostering safer communities through strategic investments in evidence-driven approaches.
