City of Ferndale begins construction of new Civic Campus, parking impacted in the area
Ferndale has begun construction on a new Civic Campus, which will significantly alter parking arrangements between City Hall and the Ferndale Public Library. Starting Thursday, the library parking lot will close, but a temporary parking lot will be available on the library's west side during construction. The new Civic Campus will feature a two-story, 19,000-square-foot building that consolidates city hall, council chambers, municipal court, and administrative offices. In addition, the elections ballot box has been moved to the Pioneer Pavilion parking lot to accommodate the construction. This project represents a significant investment in local infrastructure, aiming to enhance government efficiency and accessibility.
The city encourages residents to remain informed and adjust their parking plans as necessary during this period. Construction impacts began on Tuesday, signaling the start of this major downtown initiative. The completion of the Civic Campus is expected to improve local governance and community engagement.
