Bellevue Fire Department earns reaccreditation

Bellevue, WALocal News

The Bellevue Fire Department has once again earned reaccreditation from the CFAI, reinforcing its legacy of excellence in fire and emergency services. This prestigious recognition highlights the department's commitment to data-informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and high-quality emergency response. Since 1998, Bellevue Fire has been continuously accredited, making it one of only eight fire departments in the nation to achieve this distinction. Today, fewer than 400 fire agencies worldwide hold CFAI accreditation, making Bellevue's achievement particularly noteworthy. Fire Chief Jay Hagen remarked that this reaccreditation is a testament to the hard work and professionalism exhibited by the entire team.

The rigorous CFAI accreditation process includes a comprehensive self-assessment against 250 criteria, ensuring agencies maintain high performance standards. Moreover, other departments within Bellevue, such as police and public utilities, have also received national accreditation, showcasing a city-wide commitment to excellence. This ongoing dedication to accreditation not only benefits the fire department but enhances overall community safety and service quality.
