Affordable housing explained as Bellevue updates strategy

Bellevue, WALocal News

Bellevue is revising its Affordable Housing Strategy for 2025 to improve access to affordable housing. The Office of Housing has created three educational videos discussing key topics such as affordable housing definitions, local housing needs, and how the updated strategy will assist residents. Community input gathered from January to April involved hundreds of participants, whose feedback is captured in the 2025 AHS Phase 1 Engagement report. Like its predecessor from 2017, this strategy aims to simplify the process of finding affordable housing in Bellevue. Residents can engage further by sharing their personal housing experiences online, which will help underscore the importance of the issue.

The initiative reflects a growing recognition of housing challenges faced by the local community. The involvement of organizational partners highlights a collaborative approach to addressing these challenges. Ultimately, the strategy seeks to create a more inclusive and accessible housing market in Bellevue.
