2 injured in Powder Springs house fire, officials say

Early Friday morning, a house fire in Powder Springs, Georgia, resulted in injuries to two women, one of whom required immediate CPR after being rescued from the blaze. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at around 5 a. m. on Flowering Springs, where they encountered a house fully engulfed in flames. Neighbor Sandie Caslegno, who heard a loud explosion, called 911 and attempted to alert other residents about the fire.

Thanks to the rapid response of 12 fire units, the flames were subdued within about 15 minutes, demonstrating the efficiency of the Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services. The elderly woman who was rescued from her bedroom is currently receiving medical attention, and there are hopes for her recovery. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and this incident marks the second major fire in Cobb County on the same morning, following another house fire that resulted in a fatality. The community has expressed gratitude for the firefighters' quick actions, highlighting their dedication and professionalism in the face of emergencies.
