Georgia Man Arrested for Vehicle Break-Ins Following Police Chase

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office made an arrest on Friday night after responding to reports of a vehicle break-in, leading to the capture of 19-year-old Dakarai Preston from Alpharetta. The call came in at 9:13 p. m. , with a witness describing the suspect as a man wearing a jacket and blue jeans. When deputies arrived, they were informed that the suspect had fled around the side of the building.

Upon seeing the deputies, Preston attempted to escape, initiating a police chase. Once apprehended, authorities discovered he had broken into multiple vehicles in the parking lot. He has been charged with entering autos, criminal attempt to commit a felony, and obstruction of an officer. His actions have raised concerns about vehicle safety in the area, underscoring the need for increased vigilance among residents. Currently, Preston is being held without bond at the Monroe County Jail, awaiting further legal proceedings.
