Jonathan Hunt appointed interim CEO of MARTA board creates strategic advisory group

Jonathan Hunt has taken over as interim general manager and CEO of MARTA following Collie Greenwood's retirement on July 17. With nearly 12 years of experience in MARTA’s legal department, Hunt will be supported by a newly formed strategic advisory group led by former MARTA chief Keith Parker. This group is composed of notable leaders, including Metro Atlanta Chamber CEO Katie Kirkpatrick and Atlanta Regional Commission Executive Director Anna Roach. Hunt aims to promptly resolve service issues and push forward essential projects in anticipation of the World Cup. He emphasized his familiarity with MARTA and relationships within the community as assets in this interim role.

Board Chair Jennifer Ide noted that the combination of Hunt’s background and the advisory group’s expertise will facilitate informed strategic decisions. Mayor Andre Dickens praised the appointment, urging MARTA leadership to address operational and financial issues swiftly. The emphasis is on expanding the transit system and improving reliability for riders, which is crucial for the Atlanta region's success.
