Quavo, Rocket Foundation aiding victims after violent Atlanta weekend

Atlanta, GALocal News

Following a weekend of gun violence in Atlanta that resulted in two fatalities and numerous injuries, Quavo and The Rocket Foundation launched a Therapy Support Fund to assist affected families. This fund honors 18-year-old Deshawn Johnson and 33-year-old Aaron "Coach Ball" Hines, both connected to the foundation’s programs. Hines was shot in his home, and Johnson was killed at Empire Park, with a $10,000 reward offered for information leading to arrests. The fund will provide trauma-informed mental health services and mentorship to families impacted by the violence. The Rocket Foundation, which Quavo founded in memory of his late nephew Takeoff, is partnering with local organizations such as HOPE Hustlers and Offender Alumni Association.

The initiative aims to support community-based violence intervention efforts and provide real-time mental health resources. The foundation emphasizes its commitment to breaking the cycle of violence through expert therapy services. Contributions can be made online to support this crucial initiative.
