Atlanta, GALocal News

A five-year-old girl is fortunate to be alive after her father, a wanted felon, led police on a high-speed chase in Lilburn, Georgia, on Monday. The pursuit began around 2 p. m. when an officer noticed the suspect's vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the suspect fled, running a red light and ultimately crashing his car. The girl was not in a car seat at the time and suffered only minor injuries.

After the crash, the suspect sought medical help for his daughter before attempting to escape into the woods, where he was later apprehended. Lilburn police confirmed the suspect was taken into custody and booked into Gwinnett County Jail under felony warrants. Authorities emphasized the remarkable outcome that the child survived the ordeal. The incident has raised concerns over child safety in vehicles, particularly regarding the proper use of car seats. The suspect's identity and age remain undisclosed as the investigation continues.
