Woodinville City Council Advances Funding for Community Centre and College Support

The Woodinville City Council held a meeting this week where they prioritized funding initiatives for the NPRSA Community and Aquatic Centre and Cascadia College’s CC5 Gateway building. The council has submitted a federal earmark application seeking $3. 5 million for the aquatic centre, alongside a King County Parks Levy Grant request for $5 million for property acquisition related to the project. This significant push for funding reflects the city's commitment to improving community resources and educational opportunities. The NPRSA project has already received strong regional support, including over 20 letters from various cities and community organizations.

In addition to this, the council expressed support for Cascadia College’s Gateway building, which is included in proposed state budgets but not in the House version. The council plans to send a formal letter of support to the college's president. City staff will continue to track the progress of these funding applications and advocate for the projects. With successful funding, the community centre aims to provide enhanced recreational spaces for residents, while support for the college is expected to improve educational resources.
