Foxtrot Hastily Shutters Stores in D.C. and Elsewhere

Washington, DCLocal News

Foxtrot unexpectedly shut down all its grocery locations in D. C. , Chicago, Austin, and Dallas, leaving employees and customers in a state of confusion. The owners of Foxtrot, which recently merged with Dom’s Kitchen & Market, stated they explored numerous options to keep the business afloat but found none viable. Reports suggest that Outfox Hospitality will file for bankruptcy, complicating the situation further.

All customer-facing operations have ceased, and the chain has disabled delivery services and store credits. A group of former employees has filed a lawsuit in the U. S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleging that Foxtrot violated state and federal employment laws by failing to provide proper notice before layoffs. The lawsuit seeks class action status and could potentially involve around 1,000 employees nationwide.

Foxtrot had become a go-to spot for high-end grocery items in D. C. , drawing a devoted clientele since its establishment in 2021. The sudden closure has left many connoisseurs of premium snacks and beverages lamenting the loss of their favorite shopping destination.
