D.C. Men Accused of Climbing Through a Drive-Through Window During March Carjacking and Robbery Spree

Washington, DCLocal News

Three D. C. men, Kanard Bishop, Edward LeRoy Brown, and Khalil Boyd, face a 14-count indictment for a series of carjackings and armed robberies from March 17 to March 28. The indictment alleges they targeted fast food restaurants and convenience stores, with notable incidents including a failed robbery at a McDonald's drive-thru. On March 28, their crime spree ended when police intervened during an attempted robbery at a GameStop, resulting in a police shooting that injured Brown.

The group, armed during their activities, had previously carjacked vehicles at gunpoint and stolen a range of personal items from victims. The U. S. Attorney’s Office emphasized the violent nature of these crimes, which included multiple armed robberies and attempts. Bishop and Brown were found with loaded guns upon arrest, highlighting the risks involved in their criminal actions.

This case raises concerns about escalating violent crime in the D. C. area and the need for law enforcement vigilance. The indictment was filed in U. S.

District Court for D. C. on April 10.
