The Downtown Day Services Center, which offers walk-in services, will be open from 9 a. m. to 5 p.

m. for individuals experiencing homelessness. Residents facing mental health challenges can reach out to the DC Department of Behavioral Health by calling 988 for confidential support. Additionally, the DC Department of Public Works will suspend trash, recycling, and food waste collection on Memorial Day, with services sliding to the following week. The Fort Totten Transfer Station will also be closed to the public, resuming services on Tuesday, May 27.

Outdoor pools and parks will remain open, providing recreational opportunities during the holiday weekend. These modifications reflect the District's commitment to maintaining essential services while honoring the Memorial Day holiday.
