The Bowser Administration commemorates the 15th anniversary of Capital Bikeshare (CaBi), a pioneer in bikesharing that now boasts over 800 stations and 8,000 bikes. Since its inception, CaBi has facilitated over 50 million trips, with e-bikes accounting for more than 60% of rides. DDOT Director Sharon Kershbaum stated that the system has evolved into a vital transportation resource for the District. In 2024, CaBi recorded over 6 million trips, marking a 36. 9% increase from the previous year.

The administration has made significant investments in transportation infrastructure, including 55 miles of bike lanes and the introduction of solar canopies for e-bike charging. CaBi also supports adaptive cycling sessions for individuals with disabilities, enhancing access for all residents. The FY26 Budget, Grow DC, aims to build on this progress with substantial funding for multimodal transportation initiatives. These efforts reflect the administration's commitment to providing safe and affordable travel options for residents and visitors alike.
