Mayor Bowser Delivers First Housing and Homeownership Opportunities at Reservoir District on Former McMillan Site

This redevelopment also introduced a recreation center, an aquatic center, and a 6. 2-acre park, transforming an underutilized area into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood. Bowser highlighted the success of public-private partnerships in creating new homeownership opportunities for DC residents.

Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie expressed personal pride in the project, which reflects the community's values and needs. The townhomes’ design complements existing historic structures on the site, enhancing the area's character. This initiative supports Bowser's Growth Agenda, committing substantial funds for affordable housing and neighborhood improvements. Additionally, the Reservoir District announced a summer event series to foster community engagement and celebrate local culture.
