Mayor Bowser Delivers First Housing and Homeownership Opportunities at Reservoir District on Former McMillan Site

Mayor Bowser highlighted the importance of utilizing underutilized land to create new homeownership opportunities for DC residents. The project is a collaboration between the District of Columbia and Vision McMillan Partners, incorporating various developers for townhomes, apartments, and retail spaces. Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie expressed pride in the project, emphasizing its long history and community-centered approach.

The townhomes' design complements the preserved historic structures at the site, showcasing white brick facades. This opening supports Bowser's ongoing commitment to affordable housing, with substantial funding allocated in her FY26 Budget. Additionally, the Reservoir District announced a summer event series to engage the community through music, culture, and wellness activities.
