Mayor Muriel Bowser officially opened the Reservoir District Townhomes in Ward 5, which includes 146 units, of which 22 are affordable. This public-private partnership involves multiple developers and aims to enhance local amenities, including a recreation center and park. Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie expressed personal pride in the project, emphasizing its reflection of community values and long-term residents' needs.

The opening coincides with the launch of a summer event series designed to foster community engagement and celebrate local culture. The Reservoir District aims to create a holistic community where residents can live, work, and enjoy recreational activities.
