Deputy Mayor for Education Paul Kihn noted the importance of providing accessible opportunities that foster learning and engagement for students.

This summer initiative includes various programs, such as DCPS Middle School Summer Learning and the Junior Lifeguard Academy. In addition, the community can participate in events like Weekly Veggie Giveaways and fitness sessions at local parks. The coordinated effort among city departments aims to create enriching experiences that support youth across all neighborhoods in the District.
