3rd Alarm Fire- 2200 Block of E Hastings Street

A third alarm fire broke out in the 2200 block of E Hastings Street, leading to an extensive response from approximately 45 firefighters. The fire spread to two one-storey businesses and a two-storey mixed-use property, necessitating an upgrade to a third alarm due to the risk of it spreading to nearby buildings. Thankfully, all businesses were closed, resulting in no reported injuries. Seven individuals from a neighboring building were evacuated as a precaution but have since returned home. Fire investigators remain on-site, actively working to determine the cause of the fire.

The Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services expressed gratitude to those who alerted emergency services. Firefighters successfully contained the blaze, and the impacted buildings are now boarded up for assessment. The quick response helped prevent further property loss in the area.
