University Place, WALocal News

In a brazen act of theft, a University Place toy store was burglarized early Thursday morning, with thieves stealing LEGO sets valued at $10,000. The Sasquatch Bricks Toy store was targeted when a U-Haul truck pulled up, leading to a swift police response after surveillance footage captured the crime. Pierce County deputies pursued leads that directed them to a nearby storage unit, where the suspect was discovered unconscious in his vehicle. During the search, deputies recovered not only the stolen LEGO sets but also firearms, drugs, and paraphernalia. The 32-year-old man has been charged with first-degree possession of stolen property and several firearm-related offenses.

His extensive criminal history, which includes property crimes and weapons violations, raises concerns about repeat offenders in the community. Local law enforcement praised an investigator for their role in solving the case. The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges surrounding theft and crime in the area.
