What's UP with Biz? New Members of the EDAC

University Place, WALocal News

The Economic Development Advisory Commission (EDAC) of University Place recently appointed Sandy McKenzie and Monica Marchetti as its new members, replacing Ron Kent and Rick Larson. McKenzie, affiliated with Engel & Volkers Chambers Bay, brings nearly 25 years of residency in U. P. and a desire to create synergies between local businesses and residents. She noted that homebuyers are drawn to the area’s schools and lifestyle, and she hopes to devise innovative ways for businesses to capitalize on this appeal.

Meanwhile, Marchetti, who runs her own home-based business, aims to amplify the voice of entrepreneurs in economic development discussions. She looks forward to enhancing small business incentives and fostering partnerships between the City and local enterprises. The EDAC serves as a critical link between the business community and the City, advocating for initiatives that impact economic growth. Current member John Siridakis was also reappointed after his term expired in January. The commission's ongoing outreach efforts reflect its commitment to the community and its economic well-being.
