Nurture a Tree at the Curran Apple Orchard

University Place, WALocal News

Curran Orchard Resource Enthusiasts (CORE) is inviting community members to adopt an apple tree for the entire growing season, which spans from January to October 15. This unique program allows participants to engage in pruning parties, where they can learn about tree care and enjoy the rewards of their labor with fresh apples come fall. The cost of adopting a tree is $50 for those who wish to prune themselves, while the fee is $80 if they prefer to have CORE volunteers do the pruning. This initiative not only promotes local agriculture but also encourages community involvement and education about sustainable farming practices. CORE is also in need of volunteers for its annual pruning events, making this an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to connect with nature and their community.

Those who may not be ready to adopt a tree can still contribute by visiting the “Volunteer” page on the Curran Apple Orchard website for additional ways to support. By nurturing a tree, participants foster a sense of stewardship and connection to the land, enhancing the local environment. Don't miss the chance to be part of this enriching experience at Curran Orchard!
