High school seniors in University Place are encouraged to apply for a $3,000 scholarship from the Association of Washington Cities. This opportunity targets students engaged in local government or community leadership roles who plan to pursue post-secondary education. The city will nominate one graduating senior to compete for one of four scholarships available statewide. Completed applications must be received by 4 p. m.

on January 5, 2026, either via email or mailed to city offices. This scholarship reflects the city's commitment to fostering civic involvement among youth.
