UPDATE University Place TV Service is Back Online

University Place, WALocal News

Service to University Place TV (UPTV) has been fully restored after a fire outside a City of Tacoma facility damaged fiber optic lines on November 9. The incident temporarily disrupted service for UPTV and several other local PEG channels, including TV Tacoma and Tacoma Public Schools. The team at TV Tacoma quickly repaired the damaged equipment, allowing UPTV programming to resume. Despite the restoration, repairs to the building itself are still in progress. Viewers can access UPTV content online via its YouTube channel during this time.

The Rainier Communications Commission (RCC) facilitated the signal transmission, which was affected by the fiber damage. Community members are encouraged to stay tuned for updates on the facility repairs and service restoration timelines. Appreciation is expressed for the public's patience during the disruption.
