Steve Worthington Resigns from City Council

Council Member Steve Worthington will resign from the University Place City Council, effective August 30, 2025. In a heartfelt resignation letter, he described his nearly 12 years on the Council as one of the greatest honors of his life, commending the talent and collaboration of his fellow members. He also expressed gratitude for the professionalism and integrity of the City staff, whose efforts he credited for the Council's impactful work. Worthington and his wife, Jill, are relocating to Vancouver, Washington, to be closer to their children and grandchildren in Bend, Oregon. He referred to his Council work as the pinnacle of his public service career but did not rule out future opportunities to contribute in Vancouver.
