Whats UP with Biz? It's Back-to-School Season!

University Place, WALocal News

Average American households will spend around $900 on back-to-school items this fall, according to recent projections. University Place encourages residents to shop locally, highlighting businesses like Fred Meyer and Safeway for essential supplies. HomeGoods caters to college students with dorm essentials, while local salons such as Great Cuts and Kerizma Salon offer haircuts for a refreshed school year. Nearly two-thirds of every dollar spent at these local businesses is reinvested into the community, supporting tax revenue and creating jobs. This initiative aims to bolster the local economy and enhance community well-being.

The emphasis on local shopping aligns with broader efforts to stimulate economic growth in the region. As students prepare for the new school year, residents are reminded of the positive impact their spending can have. Supporting local businesses fosters a sense of community and strengthens local resilience.
