The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is calling for applications for the Tokyo Financial Award 2024, aimed at establishing Tokyo as a leading city for sustainable finance and innovation. The award recognizes initiatives that utilize finance to address societal challenges, thereby promoting a sustainable society. It comprises two categories: Financial Innovation and Sustainability, each with distinct application deadlines. The Financial Innovation category encourages businesses to submit plans that leverage cutting-edge financial technology to solve issues faced by Tokyo residents. In contrast, the Sustainability category focuses on initiatives that further sustainable finance in both investment and business practices.

Winners in each category will receive significant cash prizes, with the first place in Financial Innovation awarded 10 million yen. Additionally, a special award will be given for outstanding initiatives in green finance. This initiative reflects Tokyo’s ambition to become a global leader in sustainable finance and innovation, inviting participation from both local and international businesses.
