Public Hearings for Architectural Review and Historic Preservation in Tampa

Tampa Bay, FLLocal News

The City of Tampa will conduct public hearings for the Architectural Review Commission, Barrio Latino Commission, and Historic Preservation Commission at Old City Hall. Citizens can participate in the discussions or submit written comments to be considered in the official record. Written comments must be submitted 24 hours before the meetings. The Historic Preservation division works to maintain the integrity of local historic districts and landmarks, ensuring that any changes adhere to architectural standards. Currently, Tampa has four local historic districts and 64 designated landmarks.

The city’s certification by the State of Florida allows it to manage federal and state historic preservation programs effectively. This certification requires that developments within historic districts undergo review by established architectural boards. These efforts underscore Tampa's commitment to preserving its historical heritage and community identity.
