Body found in Weedon Island Preserve identified as Allister Nasr

The Pinellas Medical Examiner has confirmed that a body found in Weedon Island Preserve is that of Allister Samer Nasr, a 17-year-old who had been reported missing since March 1, 2025. Last seen leaving his home on a bicycle, the search for Nasr included extensive efforts by law enforcement, utilizing drones, helicopters, and thermal imaging. The discovery of his bicycle near the preserve heightened concerns for his safety. Currently, authorities are investigating the cause of death, with St. Petersburg police indicating that there are no signs of trauma and no evidence of foul play.

Nasr's family expressed their deep sorrow in a statement, describing him as a "kind, loving and gentle soul" who brought warmth to everyone he met. They also extended their gratitude to the community, friends, and school for their support during the search. As they navigate this unimaginable loss, the family has requested privacy to honor Allister's memory. The case remains under investigation, with the community mourning the loss of a young life.
