Tampa Police Charge Man in Connection with Lois Ave. Arson and Gunfire

Tampa Police have charged Arvin Solimanpoor, a 29-year-old man, in relation to an alarming incident on March 12, 2025, where he allegedly set fire to a multi-business structure at 5215 N. Lois Ave. Just before 5:00 AM, he entered the unoccupied building, igniting a fire and reportedly firing a gun multiple times inside. Witnesses alerted authorities, leading to Solimanpoor's swift arrest as he attempted to drag brush into the flames. Officers found a handgun on him, indicating the severity of the situation.

During his time in custody, Solimanpoor displayed erratic behavior, damaging a camera and throwing urine at a uniformed officer. He has been charged with several offenses, including arson with injury and battery on a law enforcement officer. The incident resulted in minor injuries to a firefighter, who was treated at a local hospital. This case remains active as police continue their investigation.
