This initiative arose from community concerns regarding drug sales in local clubs and bars. Officers apprehended 19-year-old Matthew Shaffer, who was found in possession of narcotics believed to be cocaine, testing positive for Fentanyl. Additionally, 23-year-old Joseph Azucena was arrested for selling cocaine. The operation underscored the department's commitment to public safety, with Chief Lee Bercaw stating, “I want to send a clear message, there is no tolerance for this behavior in Tampa.

” The comprehensive enforcement efforts included six DUI arrests and 210 traffic stops, demonstrating a proactive approach to crime prevention.
