Gibbs High School choir in heading to Spain and Portugal

The Vox Nova Chamber Choir from Gibbs High School is preparing for an exciting trip to Spain and Portugal during their spring break, departing on March 15. Directed by Matthew Clear, the choir comprises nearly 30 students, with 60% traveling outside the U. S. for the first time. Their performance repertoire will feature works by American composers, highlighting the cultural exchange between the students and the local audiences in Europe.

Senior Jayden Timothy shared her enthusiasm about the trip, emphasizing its uniqueness compared to her previous choir experiences. The choir's final performance in the U. S. at First Presbyterian Church served as a heartfelt send-off before their international adventure. This opportunity not only allows the students to showcase their musical talents but also to immerse themselves in diverse cultures, culinary experiences, and new friendships.
