Tragic Multi-Fatal Crash in Venice, Florida Under Investigation

A devastating crash in Venice, Florida, early on December 3, 2024, has left two individuals dead and one person hospitalized with serious injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred at approximately 3:30 a. m. when a vehicle traveling south on River Road crossed the center line and collided head-on with another vehicle. The impact caused one vehicle to ignite in flames, while the other overturned.

Tragically, the driver and passenger of the vehicle that crossed into oncoming traffic died at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Following the crash, River Road was closed in both directions for several hours as the Florida Highway Patrol conducted their investigation. Authorities are examining the factors that contributed to this tragic accident, which has deeply affected the local community.
