Here’s how Tampa airport’s new international terminal will look

Tampa Bay, FLLocal News

Tampa International Airport has officially released plans for Airside D, its new international terminal set to open in 2028. The terminal will encompass over 600,000 square feet, making it the largest airside facility at the airport, designed to enhance the travel experience for international passengers. Recent renderings highlight the terminal's two levels and a mezzanine, which will house two airline lounges. A key feature will be a dedicated U. S.

Customs processing area that encircles three sides of the first floor, allowing seamless passage for arriving passengers. With 16 gates allocated for both international and domestic flights, Airside D is positioned to significantly increase the airport's capacity. The construction has been entrusted to Hensel Phelps, a firm experienced in airport developments, which previously built the SkyCenter One atrium. Originally slated to open this year, the timeline was pushed back due to the impact of the pandemic on air travel. The airport has not yet disclosed which airline will serve as the terminal's primary tenant, leaving anticipation for future announcements.
